  A good part of the school's teachers and administration are former students so their roots and loyalty run deep. This can be a good thing or bad thing depending on the issue.
  
  The school district is a small one but they have been very fiscally conservative - saving for building projects and making do with less so that the district was not overextended - so now they are not struggling financially like many other school districts. But because of size and financial limitations the range of offerings is limited too. Whenever possible, they explore co-ops with other schools to offer students more academic and sports options. The trade-off is that academically, the students do get personalized attention (class size is excellent - and getting better!) and there is as much accountability as the parents demand. And from a sports perspective, although they don't have as many sports offerings as larger schools, kids do get an opportunity to participate.
  
  The elementary school won a federal Blue Ribbon rating several years ago, the community rewarded that by overwhelming passing a bond issue that allowed the district to build its first new building in over 30 years. The Junior High ratings are improving as well as those kids are getting older. The High School was struggling in past years but if the trend continues, the school district should find itself rated "above average" at all levels.
